Hi everyone! I've been here for a few weeks now and found it extremely hard to meet new people. I was just wondering if people were interested in have a sort of newcomer welcoming meeting once a month or so. It'll at least let people know that they're not alone. Just a suggestion.

There are a number of clubs and organisations that meet on a regular basis and all will be delighted to have you join them.

If you are not working or studying during the daytime then INN (International Newcomers Network) meets on a regular monthly basis.

There are additionally a number of social networking events (you don't have to be a high powered business executive to attend - even I go to some). These vary from the various national Chambers of Commerce to private social events such as YPHH, Oriented and my personal favourite FC Club (Fortune Careers Club). I went to the recent one 8 March and enjoyed it. The entrance was only 40RMB including first drink and great finger food / canapes. The next one is on 12 April but I'm not sure of the venue for the coming event.

Once I know I will post the information here.

I was correct. The next one is on 12 April 2007 and will be at the Hilton's Zeta Bar. Starts at 7:30pm entrance is 50RMB (if you register in advance) and includes a free drink, finger food and a lucky draw. Happy Hour rules apply until 9pm. There is more info on the FC Club site www(dot)fcclub(dot)com
