Could someone please refer me to a good website for renting
a room and/or small flat (max. $ 600 USD) in Valparaiso? I
would initially be interested in renting and paying up front for

A bit of a late answer, i just saw your message.
we (my husband and I) rent out a room in Valparaiso, in Cerro Alegre. You can see pictures and check some tourist information about Valparaiso on my husband's website vivavalparaiso.cl.
