|
|
Hello,
I am hoping to move to Chile next year to be with my girlfriend (who lives there). However I don't have a job offer and I would like to work out there, could anyone give me advice on how I go about this? i.e. What would be the best visa to pursue?
I am from the UK and would also like to purchase a property in Santiago as well, but I am unable to open an account in the banks there, so any ideas on this would be great also.
So really any help or where to look for help would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks _________________ J |

You can buy property on a tourist visa in chile, but you need a RUT or tax payer ID number. You can get that from the IRS with just a tourist visa.
Here is an article on How to buy property in Chile written by a Chilean Attorney It should sort out a lot of your questions
Inorder to work you need to have either a contract or to set up a company under an investors permit. Mostly the visa issues are related to how long you want to stay, and what you want to do. For the most part, Chile is fairly easy with immegration issues.
Getting a bank account for a forienger without perment residency is almost impossible without a friend that is a well placed bank maneger. It does happen, but not through normal routes to opening an account. _________________ All Southern Chile Travel and Real Estate | Instituto de Ingles EES Santiago Chile |
