1St: Do not buy a R/H Drive car. Not only is it dangerous but they are all going to be put off the road in the next few months that is why you will find them so cheap.

I am an advanced lindy hopper in Phnom Penh, hoping to find a dance partner to practice with and start a swing scene. Experience preferred but not necessary...I can teach you! If you have a friend who may be interested, please pass this along.
Lindy Hop is a dance form that originated in the 1930s during the swing era. If you like old jazz greats like Louis Armstrong, Billie Holiday, Benny Goodman, etc....you will love it. Check out some videos on youtube if you have never heard of this before (I can't post urls here).

The answer to a lot of your Questions depends on the Quality of life you are looking for.

Rent From $100. to $4,000. a month,

Meals from $1 to $50. ++

A lot of Khmers speak good English. Much more English spoken in Cambodia than in Thailand.
Public transport like buses & trains "No such thing" around the city Buses going to the country areas all day. Some Meter Taxi in PP now just starting. Most people use Moto Bike Taxi or Tuk Tuk.

There is an Expat Property Forum/Networking Evening being held on Monday 2 June at 7pm at the Raffles Hotel, Phnom Penh.

The evening is being hosted by Montpelier and will consist of 4 short, in-depth seminars on property issues concerning ex-pats, including investment opportunities throughout Asia, Australia, Europe and the US, held by expert speakers in these fields.
There will also be a seminar on reducing the costs of interest and capital on current properties using Multi Currency Mortgages.
