Hi, I have recently heard that in Cambodia it is becoming easier to move to. I am a young 31yo man with dual citizenship (australian & italian)and would be interested in retiring to Cambodia in the next 3-5 years. I have been there once as tourist and loved it. I heard that the cost of life is increasing however you can still have a good life with an income of US$1000 per month. Is this true? I would achieve this through monthly bank interests using my account in an australian bank. Am I supposed to deposit money in local banks? if so do you know what is the interest rate for bank deposits?
Also what type of visa would I require?
Would you know approx the yearly cost of a medical insurance for expats, a decent one. I would love to move to sihanoukville or kep.
thanks for your help

I am considering employment in Phnom Penh and would like to know the approximate cost of living including housing, food, clothing, clubs and pubs, internet and public transportations/or car to drive around for traveling. I need recommendations on areas to live near Hun Sen Park with convenience facilities around and on where to hang out for entertainments.
I speak fluent English and would like to know whether I would face any difficulties in communicating with the locals as I would not want to offend anyone unintentionally.
Any info to share would be much appreciated. Thanks.

I should think with $1000 per month you could live like a king! I manage on $400 per month and this includes a nice en-suite hotel room!
