Looks like I'm coming to work in Brunei in June.
I'm British, female, early 40s and would like to hook up with other expats in Brunei. It'd be great to meet with some people who can explain how things work and give advice and have a coffee with.
Anyone out there? |

Hey there! Randomly surfing and I found this; I've been living in Brunei my entire life (but not Bruneian) leaving for university at the end of July!
There's loads of expats here so you shouldn't have a problem fitting in, very few places to go to for a very good time though since the selling of alcohol in public was made illegal sometime in the 80's i think? I jsut thought I'd say good luck! My boyfriend's mom came here to work from England in 2000, and when it came time for them to leave last year I think they were really sad about it, because as quiet as it is here, you do meet some very nice people.
Good luck with life in Brunei!

Hi
just came across your email on my return from UK
I have lived in Brunei for 21 years and there are good and bad things here. However, you will never find it hard to meet and make new friends. You said you were going to work here - a teacher??? - so you will have a ready supply from that source. Also many expat woman meet in Gadong at Coffee Bean in the morning ie after dropping kids or after gym.
I can be contacted if you want any further info or to make a date for a coffee.
regards

Carole
Many thanks for your response to my message. Due to all kinds of delays to do with getting project approval, working visa etc, I only arrived in Brunei a few days ago. I'm stuck way out of town and, at the moment, with no car. Also been working all the hours...no, not a teacher. Am finding it very quiet here!
Carole how do I make contact you?
Random Girl, also thanks for your message - and good luck at University!
And does anyone know a dive operator here in Brunei? The one listed on the internet does not have up to date contact details.
Best wishes and thanks,
Iona |

Iona!
Divers? I supposed you have alot, if not, look towards sabah, I'm sure there's loads of them.
On this forum, there's one dive specialist, honestly she'll kill me if she sees this, but you need help, you could ask her. starquarius.
Cheers! Enjoy, and if you need any problem, you could actually post it in the forum and we shall wsee what he could do to assist you. |
