Allo', All ~

I will be heading to Jerudong in July, to do a Divemaster course with ScubaTech at the Empire (as well as looking for a full-time teaching job). I am hoping for an internship/residency while there, but need to plan on 1-3 months of accommodations if they don't provide that option.

Is it possible to get some kind of short-term rental? Or can someone recc a guesthouse or smaller hotel (or pretty much any other option) that would be close & not overboard expensive? (I want to do my classes at the Empire; I can't afford to STAY there for 1-3 months!!! lol)

Many thanks in advance!

Hi Jackson,

Are you now in Brunei yet~?

Anyway there is a guesthouse and smaller hotel at Jerudong, but mind u, that is it not walking distance to the Emipre hotel. So you might have to find a car or have someone pick u to & fro Empire. You can ask ur ScubaTech Instructor to give u a lift, im sure they wont mind.

I am a diver myself, but i go out diving on my own wif another group of divers.

I can help u find out the price of the guesthouse or a house room rental for 1-3mths..
If u r interested u can just drop me an email. Thanks

mn_k ~

Thanks for the offer of help. Smile Greatly appreciated!

Yes, I am here in Brunei now; I've been here in BSB for 5 days now. Staying @ the Jubilee this month, while I look for an apartment or house to rent.

People have all been very kind/polite so far, but I will need help to figure out things like where to look for rental property, how to sort out a phone & phone plan, where to buy a good used motorcycle or car, etc. Divers are usually great abouyt this sort of thing.

I've already been in touch with one diver here, and - from the web - I hear that there are 2 chances to meet fellow divers:

* Monday evenings, Anggerek Desa Pool, and

* Tuesday evenings, Jalan Muara, Seafood Centre, near the Tiong Hin roundabout

I'm going to try to make both of those this coming Monday/Tuesday.

Cheers!

Glen

Any other divers or people w/ general advice are free to post up here, and/or send me a PM.
