The CIWS is a philanthropic society, with the concomitant goal of providing social contact&lt;br /&gt;

Efforts are dedicated to raising money for various local charitable institutions caring for impoverished children and adults. CIWS also provides a social forum wherein members of diverse cultural backgrounds can share a common goal of helping others. Founded in 1962 by the wife of the Canadian Consul General in São Paulo, CIWS has grown to a membership of 100 women of many different nationalities. Funds are raised at monthly luncheon meetings, and at two annual charity events. The first of these events is a gala evening of dinner and dance, &amp;quot;Pub Night&amp;quot;; the second is a fabulous Fashion Show. The São Paulo Women's Club is an association of volunteers founded in 1954 with the objective of uniting women in social, cultural and philanthropic activities. Affiliated to the General Federation of Women's Clubs in Washington, D.C., the club offers a variety of activities for members of different nationalities, including trips, classes, teas, luncheons and charitable work. The Women's Club built and maintains the Castelinho Community Center, located in a very poor part of São Paulo. Over 600 children visit the center daily and their families are benefited by several programs, including a family planning project and small clinic. Volunteers and donations, which are tax deductible, are always welcome. &lt;br /&gt;
