I have never been to Brazil, but next year I'm planning to visit.
I'll be travelling with my girlfriend who is from the Philippines and I'm from New Zealand.
I've heard that a Filipinos and New Zealanders can get 90 day stamps on arrival without a visa.
Can anyone confirm that this is indeed true?
I also read that a 90-day extension is available upon application at the police department, which requires proof of funds and a return air ticket. Are they strict in checking for this?
If a person has already stayed for a total of 180 days, is it possible to leave Brazil and come straight back for a further 90 days? i.e. do a visa run to a neighboring country.
Any info would be much appreciated. |

Dear Tropo,
Anyone with a tourist visa can stay in Brazil for up to 90 days.
To stay more time you need a residency visa, if you need more information about residency visa, please contact me at info@bionexus.biz or 55 85 3247 5050. |

| new zealanders do not require a visa they will be given a stamp at the airport fo 90 days. if you wish to stay longer policia federal require passport and copy of tickets they dont normally request proof of funds. this is a relatively simple process and will give you an additional 90 days. after this 90days you cannot leave and re- enter as there is a limit 180 days per year you can stay. the option here is go and stay in another country for 6 months and then return. |
