I am from Austin, Texas and have been living in Campinas since January. My husband and I would like to meet other expats to hang out with!

We will be living in Cambui, also. Right now we are in a hotel in Americana waiting on furniture for our apartment (we move in on Monday).

We will be in Cambui on Saturday; maybe we could meet for lunch then? If not, maybe next week instead?

How do you like it here so far? I heard there's a Newcomer's Group here in Campinas, but I haven't heard anything yet from them.

Where will you live in Cambui? My husband and I have a pizza party to go to in Holambra on Saturday, so let's plan to meet next week. My friend, Gladys, and I are going to lunch and shopping tomorrow if you would like to join. We'll probably go to Iguatemi. My number is 9100-5808.
There is a Newcomer's Group and I can give you all that info. They are a really good resource and a nice group of ladies.
As for living in Cambui-we like it. I feel safe walking around, I know most of the people around the neighborhood and I can walk to anything I need-except the mall! But that's OK because I'm not a huge shopper.

just saw your note about lunch & shopping. You are probably already gone, but today is no good anyway -- I'm home with the kids while my hubby is at work.

Let's try to get together next week; we will be moved in to our apt. on Monday, and should have phone sometime after that -- I'll post here or call you when I get phone.

I'd love to get the newcomers info, and hope to meet up next week!
