HOUSING IN BOSNIA & HERZEGOVINA

There is no shortage of housing in Sarajevo, but, if you’re a foreigner, be prepared to pay through the nose. Comparatively speaking. For a two-bedroom apartment in a high rent area, that is in walking distance of the old town, it will cost about BAM 1400, which is about US$900. Although, if you were to move out of the city to, say, Ilidza, you could get yourself a big old house and a nice little yard for the same thing, or probably less.

As the country itself is still recovering form the civil war, many existing homes are still in serious need of repair and utilities are not always avaialble.
