Hello to everyone out there
Can anyone please help, Ihave decided to move to Brisbane and leave England for good but the problem is I do not know anyone in Brisbane or australia I have never been to australia so I have very little inside knowledge about the country and Brisbane.Being a nurse I could have chosen anywhere but I dont know what possesed me to point my finger on Brisbane when I was shown a map of the country. Some people think I am stupid as I have no idea what I am going to. I have 3 boys 18,16,and 14mths I have been offered a job by the Queensland health at The Royal Brisbane Hospital and I think they are going to sponser me for 457 visa. Iwould really honestly like to know will life really be better in Brisbane? and I am not totally gone mad to do this, and also any other info re the hospital will be appericiated and also if there are any nurses who have migrated there views re pay and quality of life or any other info that can put my mind at rest because at the moment I am panicking and tatally stressed out and also if nurses can let me know that how long it took for their visa from the TRN NOMINATION TIME I have my QNC Licence already and please excuse me if my post does not look HI-TECH because normally my kids do this sort of thing. thanks all in advance [/i] |

Wow Petal, you sound vwry stressed! Settle down and don't worry! Australia is far much better than the UK, I know this as I have just returned home to Sydney from London. I'm sure you will agree after a short while. There is a large gap between your kids? Your older ones will just love the warmer weather and should have no problem settling in. Sory I cant advise you on the job scene, but someone else may be able to help you there. Welcome down under....

NO ur not MAD !
I am a nurse who moved from UK to Brisbane 8 months ago and also work is RBWH. I am more than happy to give you any help or advice as i know how scarey it all is. It is a big move and a lot of work but well worth it.
I have no regrets I moved here with the intention to stay for good, feel a little home sick at times but have so much more over here to enjoy.
Please get in touch as I know where you are coming from.
Good Luck! |
