To anyone who might answer my question,
Is it currently safe to travel overland from Thailand through Malaysia (stopping along the way) and ending in Singapore? This is my intended route either by train or bus. Secondly, if it is safe, how convenient is it? Thanks in advance for any advice anyone may provide.

Very convenient and quite safe, besides a short stretch in southern Thailand. Advise not to stop there unnecessarily.

This is the trail EVERY backpacker takes when in S.E. asia. It is very safe and caters to the tourist. There have been problems in southern thailand though with fighting and violence as of late. You can scoot right through this section though.

thanks very much for the expedious replies....
If anyone will be in Thailand between late July through August and they would like to exchange contact info, that would be great. I am a law student from LA making the trek. The more people I can meet before I go, the merrier.
