The prestigious IE Business School in Madrid, Spain, is offering four half-scholarships to qualified women in our Expat Women network, in their upcoming Advanced Management Programs.

The Financial Times ranked the IE Business School as fourth best in the world this year for “Executive Education – Open Programs”, following only behind the Harvard Business School, University of Virginia (Darden) and IMD, Switzerland.

The three (English-speaking) program options where half-scholarship applications are invited from qualified women in our Expat Women network are as follows:

1. Advanced Management Program (AMP)
This program is aimed at high-potential directors in transition towards the top executive level and at entrepreneurs who are currently launching a new project. Work focus should be clearly international.

First In-Class Module: 15 – 22 February 2010
Intersession Online Module: 29 February – 8 May 2010
Second In-Class Module: 17 – 25 May 2010

2. Advanced Management Program Intensive
This program is aimed at managers and entrepreneurs who are preparing themselves to make the transition to general management or broader responsibilities. They would bring to the program over 10 years of experience in management.

In-Class Module: 1 – 23 July 2010

3. Global Senior Management Program
This is a joint program with the University of Chicago Booth School of Business.

The program is aimed at members of the Managing Committee and Administrative Councils, presidents, company owners, managing directors, vice presidents, negotiations directors, country managers and other senior managers, whose responsibilities are strategic affairs within their companies, whose focus is clearly international and who each would bring to the program over 15 years of experience in senior management.

First In-Class Module: 16 – 21 May 2010 (Chicago)
Intersession Online Module: 24 May – 19 June 2010
Second In-Class Module: 20 – 25 June 2010 (Madrid)

Full tuition fees for these programs range from €16,900 – €18,900. So, half-scholarships range in value from €8,450 to €9,450.

This is a fantastic opportunity for professional women in our Expat Women network and we encourage all qualified applicants (expatriate and non-expatriate women) to apply.

The deadline for Expat Women network scholarship applications is: 30 November 2009. All inquiries and applications should be directed please to Yvonne Sanchez (Yvonne.Sanchez@ie.edu), Associate Director of Top Management Programs at IE Business School.

Disclaimer: ExpatWomen is receiving no commissions for either the number of applicants or the number of successful candidates.

Warmly,

Greetings all- I was thrilled to see the announcement that the Kindle is going International. Couple highlights of the upgrade:

1.) AT&T is supporting wireless downloads for the Kindle in 100 new countries.
2.) Lonely Planet guides will now be available for download on the Kindle (not previously available)
3.) The cost for the international edition will be $280, a price cut from $300.
4.) The non-international version dropped to $260 (a $40 price cut from the current price, nearly $100 off from when it was originally released)

I've had my Kindle for 4 months now and it has made my expat life SOOO much easier. There's a review of it on my blog: Inspired Overseas Living. The only negative used to be the problems with it working overseas. Now that the issue is resolved, there really is no excuse for why you shouldn't have one!
Join Certified Expat Life Coach Sarah Novak, CPCC of Envision Life Coaching for The Fabulous Fall Refresh - A chance for you to throw out the tired, old behaviors that are no longer serving you and substitute them for BOLD, FRESH ACTION in the area of your choosing. Get ready for some powerful insights! Sarah will provide the tools and structure - all you need to do is show up ready to explore with an open mind.

This conference will feature the interactive Tele-conferencing technology of Maestro Conference, making it more like an in-person workshop than a teleseminar. Users will be able to raise their hands to ask questions, participate in polls with the click of a button and anonymously request to have follow-up from the presenter after the call. A portion of the call will also be spent in break-out rooms where groups of 3 will strategize to create impactful homework assignments. This will be like no other conference call you've ever been on! Hope you can join me for this FREE interactive experience!

Please note: There are no charges to participate other than long distance but if you're using a cell phone then there won't be any charges at all. Just an FYI, if you have a land line with free long distance, those tend to have less interference than cell phones. VOIP lines should work fine as well.
Hi. I want to sell 2 sets of the 2007 Cricket World Cup tickets for the PARTY STAND, covering the following 8 matches ("FOLLOW INDIA" Path):
- A1 vs B2 on March 31
- B2 vs C1 on April 2
- B2 vs A2 on April 7
- C2 vs B2 on April 11
- B2 vs D1 on April 15
- D2 vs B2 on April 19
- Semifinal 1: 2 vs 3 on April 24
- Final: April 28.

The total cost of the whole set of 2 tickets is less than USD 2,000; do note that there are no flight tickets or hotel room bookings within this package - it's only tickets for these 8 matches.

FYI - I had purchased these directly from the official ticket sellers of the ICC organization, with the intention of watching all the matches; unfortunately, I am not in a position to travel there during those dates.

Can you please let me know if anyone is interested in these tickets or if you can direct me to anyone who can help.

I live in Singapore and can be reached at the following e-mail address:
It tells the tale of a boy who makes a success of life inspite of his struggle to keep a heroin addict father supplied. The location and historical details are authentic because the author was eductaed in Hong Kong before returning to UK to complete her studies.
This is a good read, and what could be a depressing theme is lightened by the authors 'wicked' sense of humour which runs right through the book.
Worth a look!
