 hello guys can someone pm me and tell how to manage to use skype in abu dhabi... I know etisalat banned its utilisation but i know as well that some guys are quite smart to have countourned all the difficulties of the proxy....
please thank in advance i really need to use it...

| I believe you need to get someone to download the software for you. That's what my friend did and she could use it now. |

Oh so does skype actually work here and they just prevent you from downloading the client huh?
Cool will have to give it a good. I noted that iChat - AIM was blocked but the iChat Gtalk worked.
I'll have to try skype tonight when I get home. |

Yeap, and all others VOIP softwares too...
Basically, Etisalat just blocks connection to thoses websites to prevent download... But it works.
So you just need to download it and buy credits when you are out the U.A.E. and you're all set !

Actually no, Apple iChat (AOL Instant Messenger) doesn't work, and nor does Skype out. Well at least from my hotel room. Skype to Skype works fine, and MSN works fine (haven't tried voice on MSN yet tho) |

Hi Guys, i'm due to go out to Abu Dhabi in the next week or so. My method off communication was going to be SKYPE but from what i understand it is blocked, which is a real pain.
Could someone please either PM me or let me know how best to go about unblocking SKYPE if that is possible
