Expatriate Forums in Abu Dhabi (UAE)

so... it's pretty easy to meet people in abu dhabi. what's exceptionally difficult is meeting interesting people - what gives? i suspect we all hide at work and in our little social groups, as people do everywhere. but somehow it's far more insular here than the western cities i'm used to. car culture maybe? who knows.

anyway, this is an attempt to reach out - i'm a (usually) relaxed and interesting guy, trying to meet a like minded girl. you're probably curious, introspective and independent, though with that hint of cynicism one grows trying to understand the world. you read a lot, enjoy friendly arguments of politics and society, put more effort into being stylish than you care to admit, and think everything goes better with wine.

i'm 29, canadian, traveled, educated, reasonably successful and enjoy tangled conversations of many topics (art, magazines from new york, emo haircuts, you name it). i've been in AD for just under a year. let's exchange emails and shoot for a low-impact dinner to start. do write, we may be on to something here.

a. already picked up the decent girl and now she ain't single.
