Expatriate Forums in Abu Dhabi (UAE)

Hi All

I have signed a contract for a private company working in the UAE Defence sector in AD.

They submitted my paperwork for security clearance at the begining of June and they/me haven't heard anything since. That's 8 weeks now!

I realise security clearance can take time to confirm who you are etc, however, in other posts I have read that some people have received their clearance within 2-4 weeks.

Should I contact the CNIA to confirm everything is ok? Does anyone know if this wait is normal?

I am from Australia and spent 30 years in the Defence Force so should be easy to clear.
