I've read that you need to have a license to buy alcohol or pork in Abu Dhabi and I was just wondering how much one of those costs.

You don't need a license to buy pork. However the places selling pork are very limited. Spinneys in Al Khalidyia has a pork section.

Regarding the liquor: The liquor license is dependant on your salarya nd you need a statement from your employer. Most people over here don't want their employer to know that they drink alcohol at home. There are places oin Abu Dhabi that sell without asking for a license. Yoiu can buy at the ADNH (Abud Dhabi National Hotel Company) behind the Carrefour at Airport Road ant at the Capital Hotel in Hourist Club Area without a license.
