Can anyone recommend the best place to go if I say had a minor medical issue such as a cold / flu, when I mean best, I mean easy to get an appointment, short waits, good all ground General Practicioner.

Also where's the best place to good for something more serious like if you broke your arm etc?

I know back home there is a huge difference between private and public hospitals.

I have full health cover, so price isn't an issue, I just want to know just incase something happens I can just go there and get treated.

Ok I am glad I asked that question, because after 4 weeks of living here I managed to rupture my achilles playing sport. It felt like someone smashed me in the back of the leg with a baseball bat, in fact i turned around and said "what the F hit me?".

Went to Al Noor hospital, at the time things seemed to take ages, but in hindsight, it was only 20 mins between the time I got there and the time I saw a specialist. Back home you wouldn't have even gotten to speak to a triage nurse in that time.

That's interesting coz every single person i know who plays sport here managed to get an injury one time or another. I reckon the warm weather here leads people to not warm up properly before they play or something along that line. The amount of ppl breaking their bones or tear their tendons or cartiladge, etc. at work is just astounding. Or are we all getting old these days?

Can anyone recommend a good chiropractor or osteopath here in AD? I have been to one Chiro here and he turned out to be more interested in the $$ than the patient and I am now having to go across to Dubai for treatments which is getting a bit much with all the travel involved.
